Researching Into a Potential Target Audience

  I will be making a film opening for my movie, the genre of the movie is a thriller. When making this film opening I will need to set a target audience for the film to reach. In order to make my film to the best standard I will take a look at a set of statistics for the thriller movie genre.By doing this I will succeed in creating a film opening that meets both the genres and the audiences expectations.

How will this research affect my ideas?

This research will affect my ideas for my video, I will gain an understanding of how my movie should be from the results I get. I will know what to include in my opening and what not to include.

The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death

 I have chosen to look at the newly released Woman In Black film to learn about the audiences age range and which age this movie appeals to. The reason I picked The Woman In Black is because it falls under the horror/thriller genre. For my movie opening, the genre will be thriller so researching this title gives me an idea of which audience I should target with my movie opening. By looking at the data, It's evident that the movie was more successful with the female audience rather than the male audience.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

I also looked at the new sin city movie which is in the thriller genre, by looking at the data I noticed that the movie was more successful with different age groups and different genders. The target audience set for this movie was fifteen and over. The movie was more successful with the 25-34 age group, this was expected because the last sin city movie came out nine years ago when that age group were younger. The film gained a higher percentage of males in the audience than females.
